Dr. Goundappa Loganathan

Dr. Goundappa Loganathan was born to parents whose primary occupation was in agriculture. With the support of his parents and teachers he was able to successfully complete his medical education, obtaining the MBBS degree from Thanjavur Medical College in 1982, MD (Internal Medicine) postgraduate degree from Madras Medical College in 1992, and DM (Gastroenterology & Hepatology) superspeciality degree from Christian Medical College, Vellore, in 2002. Dr. Loganathan completed a 10-year stint in government service post-MD, before moving to Vellore for his postdoctoral studies. His many years of experience as Family Physician, Medical Specialist and later as Gastroenterologist, have helped him in developing high values, a service orientation, better understanding of patients' needs, and providing optimal treatment that's at the same time affordable.

Dr. G Loganathan currently runs the GL Hospital in Salem, where he has been functioning as CEO since its launch in September 2011. The hospital has been conducting regular medical camps in Salem under the banner "Hepatitis B Free Salem". GL Hospital's objective is the creation of awareness on diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract and liver and pancreatic disorders. The target audience is medical personnel, non-medical functionaries and the general public. Dr. Loganathan has organised numerous conferences in Salem, educating attendees on new developments in his field of practice. For his commendable efforts on the academic and social fronts, Dr. Loganathan was awarded the title of "Adjunct Professor" by The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University.

Dr Loganathan specialises in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and also handles complicated general medical cases.
